Travis Barker recently completed his Master of Public Administration and accepted a position as CEO. “The job is great!” says Barker.

Wayne Goodman, MIT Teacher Certification Class of April 2007, will finish the 2007/2008 school year as a third grade teacher in Wapato. Goodman recently renewed his teaching contract and completed CityU’s reading endorsement in March.

Linda (Lynne) Griffith, B.S. in Business Administration Class of 2007, will participate in the University of Washington’s Executive MPA program in October. Gov. Chris Gregoire appointed Griffith to the Climate Action Transportation Implementation Working Group, an organization focused on solutions that will lower Green House Gases and Vehicle Miles Traveled.  She continues to lead Pierce Transit as their Chief Executive Officer and serves as the President of the Washington State Transit Association. Says Griffith: “Life is good, but very busy. Transit professionals across the state believe we are in a ‘perfect storm’ with gas prices rising to record highs, global warming awareness increasing, and congestion in the Puget Sound worsening. My pitch to fellow City U grads is ‘try transit!’ It will save you money, improve travel time for all travelers, and who knows – help save our beautiful Pacific Northwest surroundings.”
 
The Association of Washington School Principals named Randy Heath, City University of Seattle Class of 1998, Vice President of the middle level board. He will serve in that role for the 2008/2009 year and move onto President Elect and President positions in the following years. The Coweeman Middle School principal graduated with a Master of Education with a Technology emphasis degree from the Albright School of Education.
 
Doug Johnson, City University of Seattle Class of 2008, will become the new principal of Mountake Terrace Elementary in Edmonds. He currently serves as the vice principal of Margaret Mead Elementary in Sammamish where he is an intern. Johnson graduates this June with his Administrator Certification.
 
Tom Jones, City University of Seattle Class of 2006, recently won an award for individual excellence in teaching from the North Thurston School District. He shared this award with six other teachers. Tom works as a third grade teacher at Lakes Elementary in Lacey, WA. He graduated from the Albright School of Education MIT Teacher Certification program.
 
Shubha Rao graduates this month with her M.S. in Computer Systems with C++ emphasis area from CityU.
 
Business Certificate graduate and M.S. in Project Management student Timothy J. Sullivan was deployed to Africa this May.
